Description
Once abandoned and slated for demolition, the High Line has become one of New York City’s most beloved parks.
This tour takes you on a fascinating journey from its origins as a dangerous street-level train line in the late 1800s, known for fatal accidents, to its transformation into an elevated park.
You'll hear about the two local heroes who saw its hidden potential and how their passion rallied support from the city and beyond.
As you walk, you'll pass landmarks like the Standard Hotel (infamous for its risqué views), Chelsea Market, where the Food Network shoots its hit shows, and the iconic Whitney Museum.
You’ll learn about the daring designs of the architects who turned this industrial relic into a lush escape and get insider stories about celebrity antics, bizarre proposals for repurposing the space, and the tragic fate of Hudson Yards' Vessel.
Along the way, dive deep into NYC’s rich history, from the Manhattan Project’s secret operations to the herds of West Side Cowboys.
Don't just visit the High Line—immerse yourself in its incredible backstory with real quotes, sound effects, and music that bring the experience to life.

Really great tour. I loved all of the historical details and architectural information. Not just information on the plants and the park but a real great tour of the area in general.

This made the high line walk much more interesting. We are a family or 4 from 59 to 26 and it entertained everyone. About the right balance of history of the high line and history of the area. A real must. It took us about 2.5 hours in total but we did not rush at all. Great gelato half way through.
